More than 3.81 lakh
consumers and 21,000 merchants have been declared winners of NITI Aayog's
lucky draw schemes ' Lucky Grahak Yojana+ , (LGY) for
consumers and ' Digi-Dhan Vyapar Yojana, (DVY)+ for merchants.
The winners were declared at 24 Digi-Dhan Melas+ held both daily and weekly across the country, the Aayog said in a statement. Delhi, Ludhiana, Panaji, Lucknow, Jammu, Bengaluru and Hyderabad were among cities in which the events were held. The winners come from various walks of life, and include small farmers, Anganwadi workers, and homemakers. Active participation has been seen among men and women, and the majority of the winners are between 21 and 30 years old. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka have emerged as the top five states with maximum number of winners, the statement added.

By February 1, lucky draws will
have been held in 21 States and four Union territories. LGY events will be held
in the coming days in Itanagar, Bhopal, Thane, Indore, Chennai, Jaipur, and
Port Blair, among other cities.
The two lucky draws were launched
on December 25, 2016 by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Law Minister Ravi
Shankar Prasad, and will remain open till April 14, 2017.
Customers and merchants using
RuPay Card, BHIM, UPI (Bharat Interface for Money/Unified Payment Interface)
USSD based *99# service and Aadhaar-enabled Payment Service (AePS) are eligible
for participating in the daily and weekly lucky draws, the statement said. Over
100 Digi-Dhan Melas will be held across the country to promote digital payment
among the people.
