Bilic feels 'let down' and 'angry' about Dimitri Payet's transfer request
Payet has been heavily linked with a transfer away from
the Hammers in the January transfer window and it appears the 29-year-old is
now itching to move on from the London Stadium. The France star dropped
a massive hint on Twitter only last week after ‘liking’ a post calling for
him to leave the club as Arsenal and Manchester United continue to show an
interest. At his press conference on Thursday, Bilic said: ‘This team, the
staff, we gave him everything, we were always there for him.
‘I feel let down. I
feel angry.’
However, Bilic stressed that he has no plans to sell
Payet who is the Hammers’ prized possession off the back of a
barnstorming 2015/16 campaign. ‘Let’s get serious. I have a situation with a
player. It is Dimitri Payet. He wants to leave,’ Bilic added. ‘We have said we
don’t want to sell our best players but Payet does not want to play for us.
‘We are not going to
sell him.’
